cement companies in India

The growth of cement industry
With increase in development in India the demand of raw material is increasing day by day.  This has made a huge growth in cement industry. The projects by government like development of the 98 smart cities, over bridges and metros has expected a boost to provide to this industry .India’s cement demand is expected to increase by the year 2025.with the growth in cement industry it has given rise to so many different companies being the best provider of cement across the world. This has made increase in employment over the country also has lead to increase in the economic growth of the country.
Cement can be defined as the substance that is used to bind other material together. They are basically used in construction and it hardens up the things. India is the second largest producer of cement in the world. With increase in construction every now and then and with coming up of the different projects of construction of bridges, metros and other high scale projects as already discussed above has increased the demand of the cement. This has given rise to increase in the production of the cement and has also provide employment opportunities to so many labourers thus adding to our economy.
There are basically two types of cement
·         Non-Hydraulic
·         hydraulic
Hydraulic cement is that which will not set in wet conditions. It can easily be attacked by any aggressive chemical when coming in contact. Next comes hydraulic cement, it becomes adhensive any sort of condition. It won’t breakdown even if it comes in contact with any sort of chemical.
Today cement has become one of the most important raw materials that is exclusively required in the construction. Without cement other, material cannot be binded together. Hence it is very important part of any construction. The demand for the cement is said to be the derived demand and it depends on how it is being consumed. Since 2008 the demand for cement has increased enormously. Trade in cement has also expended over different companies.
There are enormous cement companies in India. For example, Orient cement, OCL cement, rain industries limited, Heidelberg cement group, Peena cement, Prism cement, The Indian cement limited, Ambuja cement, ACC cement, Binani group cement and many more have added up to this industry, providing boon to the country growth as well as taking care of the people of the country too.
Below given is the list of top cement companies of India-
Ø  Ultra tech cement
Ø  Ambuja cements
Ø  Shri  cements
Ø  Peena cement
Ø  Dalmia cement and many more
Ultra tech cement has really occupied the market with its highest production. It is one of the best companies in India that provide with the facility of best cement.
Cement industry in India is growing at a very fast rate and this has added a lot to our economy too. From past years the growth can be seen easily. Hence, it’s a boon for our society.

Rising cement industry

Cement is a substance that is used to bind other materials together during construction. It is an indispensable material for building and construction work.
Cement is one of the core industries that plays a vital role in the growth and development of a nation. Cement industry is the most important industry in India, widely responsible for the economic growth of our country as India is the second largest producer of cement in the world and as it also provides employment to millions of people directly or indirectly. India is a developing nation so a lot of growth is seen here: growth in terms of technology, growth in infrastructure, growth in education, leading to the rise in demand of jobs thereby leading to the establishment of factories, plants and industries and thus, eventually leading to the rise of the cement industry.
The rate of growth of the cement industry over the past 20 years has been phenomenal. A large number of cement producers, both local and multinational, operate in India. According to the Global Cement Directory 2015 and independent research, in 2014 India had 174 integrated cement plants.
There are various types of cements:
  • Portland cement
  • Rapid hardening cement
  • Quick setting cement
  • Low heat cement
  • Sulphate resisting cement
  • High alumina cement
  • White cement
  • Coloured cement
  • Oil well cement
  • Hydrographic cement
Manufacturing of cement requires heavy, low value and weight loosing materials and is primarily a raw material oriented industry. There are a number of cement companies in India, situated in various parts of the country that are manufacturing cement since the Independence era.
There are companies that produce an array of products ranging from grey cement to white cement, from building products to building solutions and even ready to mix concretes. Most of these companies have highest quality standards and certifications such as ISO 9001 for quality systems, ISO 14001 for environmental management systems and OHSAS 18001 for occupational hazard and safety management systems. A few of such cement companies manufacture Ordinary Portland Cement' (OPC) and 'Pozzolana Portland Cement' (PPC) .These companies have global manufacturing capacity of million tonnes per annum.
Cement companies in India are mainly located in states of UP, MP, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Orissa. Portland cement is the main cement manufactured in cement companies in India.  It is the most commonly used cement for a wide range of applications. The applications cover dry-lean mixes, general-purpose ready-mixes and even high strength pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete. It is used as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and most non-speciality grout. Several types of Portland cement are available with the most common being called ordinary Portland cement (OPC) which is grey in colour, but a white Portland cement is also available.

These companies take full care of the environment protection measures and so are located far off from the main city. Some of these companies have also has also pioneered the development of multiple bio-mass co-fired technologies for generating greener power in its captive plants

Steps for making aggregate cement
Aggregates form the basis of construction in our country, which comprises of use of rocks, stone, sand, slag and also the recycled cement. The composition of different things are crushed or grounded up, to make them a fine mix of powder. This whole process is considered to be the basis of aggregate cement. This is quite a complex process to do, which is why it is important for different cement companies in India to follow the steps as mentioned below;

Acquiring raw materials
There are different ways in which raw materials can be collected and brought to the final cement process. The established ways of collecting these raw materials is through minding or at a gravel, sand pit etc. These raw materials should be collected and it adds on to the first step of aggregating cement which is further exposed to crushing process.
Crushing material
Crushing is another important step for getting aggregate cement, part of which is carried out with the help of quarries. Aggregates are required to be crushed, but when it comes to aggregate cement, they will have to be crushed again and again till the time it becomes finer nothing less than a powder. So keep the crushing going on till a good and fine powder is formed.
Sifting the cement powder out
Once the cement powder is constantly crushed, it is important to begin with sifting. Vibrating sifters have various filters, so if the aggregate cement is crushed into fine powder, further it would fall from the screen. The finest form of aggregate is sifted at the bottom, so it forms the base material for forming the aggregate cement.
Pouring cement into kiln
Cement powder is either left dry or is mixed with water, and is then poured into kiln which has to be heated at a temperature of either 3000 degrees and above. This process is carried out to remove any kind of impurities from the cement, and thus the best form of cement powder is left behind which is considered to be the strongest and the purest form of cement.
Project site delivery
The cement processed and extracted from these steps is the purest form, which can now possibly be used for construction. Thus this form is delivered to the customers, to be used for its final use. Once these cements reach t customers, it is mixed with water using cement trucks, and it consistently used for building up strong and long lasting projects.

From above it can thus be very well understood that aggregate cement is one of the best quality cements which can be gained only after carrying out a series of steps or processes. By following these steps, all recycling materials are used to build up strong cement which can be used for building strong structures like road, highways, railways, brides etc. One of the best parts of following these steps is it makes use of all the recycled materials and saves a lot of money, which is otherwise spent on the process of extraction of good quality cement from the market or cement manufacturing companies.
